Hyatt is introducing a new perk for select World of Hyatt® members to give eligible travelers earlier access to award nights at some of the chain’s most sought-after hotels.

Beginning June 30th, World of Hyatt® members with co-branded Hyatt credit cards along with Explorist and Globalist elite members will be able to book award stays roughly one month earlier than the standard booking window. That effectively extends award access from the current 12-month booking period to approximately 13 months in advance. Discoverist members will not receive access to the expanded booking window.

Terms and conditions have been updated to read:

For Free Night Award or Points + Cash Award reservations made on or after June 30, 2026, Explorists, Globalists, Lifetime Globalists, and primary cardholders of a Hyatt-branded Credit Card (regardless of tier status) will have advance access to booking as compared to other Members.

Eligibility for this benefit is based on tier status at the time of award booking and booking windows are based on the time zone of the applicable hotel or resort.”

The move gives Hyatt’s most loyal customers a potential advantage when booking extremely high-demand properties and travel periods  where award inventory can disappear almost immediately after becoming available. For travelers hoping to redeem points at iconic properties, the additional month of access could make a meaningful difference.

The new benefit arrives amid broader frustration from some Hyatt loyalists following recent award chart changes that significantly increased redemption costs at many luxury properties. Under Hyatt’s updated pricing structure, some premium hotels can now cost up to 75,000 points per night (a sharp increase from the previous top-tier standard of 45,000 points).

Anthony’s Take: For frequent Hyatt travelers, the new perk may be moderately useful rather than transformative. Award availability at most properties typically remains accessible when schedules first open, but the earliest access window becomes much more valuable during peak travel periods or at highly aspirational destinations.
