I was at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) after a quick business dinner the night before. I checked out the Escape Lounge – The Centurion® Studio Partner first (review here) and then spent some time in the Sky Club®. This lounge is in desperate need of a remodel, but it’s spacious and had some tasty food.
You need to take an elevator or the stairs to access the lounge.
Access
A desk to check in guests is located along the wall after exiting the elevator or stairs. Access is granted to passengers with memberships (purchased annually), one-time pass holders (earned from the co-branded American Express cards), Delta One®, SkyTeam premium cabin passengers, SkyTeam Elite Plus when flying internationally in premium cabins, the Centurion® and the Platinum Card® from American Express holders, Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card holders, WestJet business class passengers, and WestJet Rewards Platinum and Gold Elite. Allowed guests vary by access type. A same-day boarding pass is required to enter the Delta Sky Club®.
Anthony’s Take: This Sky Club® is dated and in desperate need of a makeover. The furniture and fixtures feel straight out of the 1990s (complete with tons of cubicles in the back for those looking to do some work). The art was also lacking compared to other Sky Clubs®, but there were plenty of seats and the food was tasty. I enjoyed eating here more than in the Escape Lounge and would return when back in Cincinnati.
Bar
The bar is located on the wall that’s furthest away from reception. It offers all of the standard spirits, wine, and beer that Delta provides complimentary as well as some premium options for purchase.
Iced tea and a Vero water dispenser were near the bar.
A coffee machine and condiments were on their own island near the windows.
A seasonal cart offered Hot Apple Cider.
Food
Lunch was being served during my visit. The buffet has several hot dishes, sandwiches, salad ingredients, breads, soups, snacks, dessert, and more.
Chicken Tetrazzini
Roasted Broccoli
Tortellini Alfredo
Various meats and cheeses
Turkey and Mozzarella Sliders
Sandwiches
Kale and Cranberry Salad and Buffalo Blue Cheese Pasta Salad
Arcadian Lettuce Salad, Pimento Cheese Spread, Pretzel Bites, Chickpea Hummus, Pita, and more
Salad dressing and add-ins
Soup was in its own section.
Desserts were near reception. These included Brownies, Apple Crisp, and Butterscotch Cookie Parfaits
Wrapped fruit and packaged snacks were also found here.
A popcorn machine was located near the windows.
Seating & Decor
There is a ton of seating in this Sky Club®. A mix of tables, high tops, comfy armchairs, cubicles, and desks around a huge room lined with windows. As mentioned, this lounge needs a makeover and some of the fun, Pop Art that Delta uses in other lounges needs to be brought here.
Lots of tables and chairs
A pair of chairs and some 90s doctor’s office reception art.
More dated art
More seating
A room just past reception held tons of empty cubicles.
Amenities
This Sky Club® offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, magazines, a printer, and the food and beverages mentioned above.
A printer and shredder
Magazines

Overall Impression:
This Delta Sky Club® at CVG is a large space, but it’s dated and needs some love from Delta. That said, I enjoyed the food and found plenty of space during my visit.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: I love the lounges where The Platinum Card® from American Express grants me access. It has had a prominent place in my wallet for many years now. While it does have an annual fee of $695, it provides many travel benefits and will always be my go-to for lounge access (both Delta Sky Clubs® and Centurion Lounges) and booking airfare from the airlines to earn 5x points (up to $500,000 per calendar year). Although CVG is my home airport, I haven’t been into the Sky Club since around 2017 or so which was the last time I had a Platinum card. Sounds like not much has changed since then 🙂
This SkyClub is definitely a vestige of when CVG was a hub city for Delta before the Northwest acquisition
My disappointment with this Club is that the DL branding police forced them to remove the plaque at the entrance declaring it the “Wendell H Ford Delta Crown Room”. Ford was a frequent DL flyer, former KY Governor, and a Senator for most of the 70s and entirety of the 80s and 90s and was a big cheerleader in getting and supporting the DL hub at CVG.
