I started my day bright and early (4:30 AM) at Tampa International Airport. I was supposed to be leaving on this trip earlier in the week from NYC, but weather caused a cancellation and I needed to head home for a few days since alternate flights were not available until today or tomorrow. This meant that I had to rejigger and reroute my trip with a start at home in Tampa.
I stayed overnight in the Tampa Airport Marriott (full review here) and walked into the airport with enough time to visit the Sky Club® (it opens conveniently at 4:00 AM).
The route was a diagonal run from Tampa to Minneapolis/St. Paul.
The flight boarded on time through Gate E67. It boarded quickly and we departed a few minutes early. I had bought a seat in First Class, but it seems like an easy upgrade. Several passengers were upgraded right before boarding including my seat mate who was thanked by the flight attendant for being Silver Medallion®.
The Starbucks® in this terminal by Gate E71 allows mobile preorders. I ordered my coffee and brought it on board with me. I also appreciated that I was earning some extra Delta SkyMiles since my accounts are linked. If you haven’t already, link your accounts here.
Service was great on the flight with the usual snack basket as well as breakfast. I had preselected the Bread Pudding. It was tasty and served with a croissant and fresh fruit.
The flight arrived early, we had a gate waiting, and I was in the Sky Club® a few minutes later.
Anthony’s Take: The first flight was great all around. Service, food, early arrival…I hope the next eight legs go just as well.

Welcome to MSP, my hometown airport, if you have any time on your layover check out the observation deck above the D terminal. Great plane spotting.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to head over there. Plane spotting is always fun.
