American Airlines is upgrading its inflight dining experience in the Main Cabin with a broader selection of snacks and meals by rolling out new options beginning today, May 1st.

Leading the refresh is the new Inflight Bites box. It’s available for $10 or 1,000 AAdvantage® miles. Designed as a celebratory offering, the box includes a mix of savory and sweet items:

  • Gochujang beef jerky
  • Wheat Thins
  • Lemon rosemary green olives
  • Chocolate cherry granola bar
  • Oreo cookies
  • Honey roasted cashews
  • Smoked Gouda cheese spread

The curated assortment reflects a more diverse and premium snack experience compared to traditional onboard offerings.

American is also introducing a partnership with NUTS ON CLARK, a family-owned Chicago business known for its freshly prepared snacks and locally sourced ingredients. New premium snack options include:

  • Angie’s BOOMCHICKAPOP Sweet & Salty Kettle Corn ($5 or 500 miles)
  • NUTS ON CLARK Roasted Salted Mixed Nuts ($11 or 1,100 miles)

These additions bring a regional touch and elevated quality to the onboard menu.

For passengers seeking a more substantial option, American has refreshed its fruit and cheese tray, now priced at $13 or 1,300 miles. The updated tray features:

  • Tillamook Extra Sharp Cheddar, Smoked Black Pepper Cheddar, and blueberry artigiano cheese
  • Fresh fruit, dried apricots, and dried black figs
  • Walnuts, gourmet crackers, Bonne Maman honey, and Toblerone chocolate

The offering is designed to provide a balanced and satisfying meal option, particularly when paired with onboard wine selections.

Starting June 1st, passengers on select flights within the United States, Canada, Caribbean, and Mexico will see an additional upgrade with the introduction of a turkey and Havarti sandwich. Priced at $14 or 1,400 miles, the sandwich is served on artisan avocado bread and includes:

  • Baby spinach
  • Sweet red pepper strips
  • Caramelized onion-mustard spread

The meal is accompanied by Community Honey BBQ chips and a dessert.

Anthony’s Take: American Airlines is elevating its Economy dining with a refreshed lineup of snacks and meals that feature premium ingredients, regional partnerships, and more substantial options. The changes mark another step in improving the onboard experience for Main Cabin travelers during the airline’s milestone centennial year.
