Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to more than 20 cities across Canada and the US. Today, it announced daily service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). This will begin on October 3rd.

These new flights are operated with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi.

These new flights are in addition to the service to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) that Porter announced in March (more here).

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, said:

This Toronto-Phoenix route connects two vibrant centres in North America, and gives passengers the opportunity to enjoy Porter’s unmatched economy experience on the route. Phoenix is another exciting step in our growth and the latest proof of our commitment to making flying better across the continent.”

Anthony’s Take: I’ve flown Air Canada and WestJet (I compared their Business Class offerings here), but have yet to try Porter Airlines. It looks like a comfortable ride and I hope to try it soon.
