I had stayed at the the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City last June and was back again for the same conference this week (my first review can be found here). The hotel opened in October 2022 and it feels brand new. It’s attached to the Salt Palace Convention Center, which has 60,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is a modern, spacious accommodation with lots of amenities for both business and leisure travelers. I focused on a lot of the amenities in my last review and this one will focus solely on the suite upgrade I received.

Anthony’s Take: The hotel feels brand new and has tons of amenities. I was upgraded to a beautiful suite on this stay. The Regency Club had a nice breakfast spread as well as snacks and drinks in the afternoon. If you’re attending a conference, you can’t get a more convenient hotel. I also appreciated that the hotel had several restaurants, a 24-hour market, a fitness center with Peloton bikes, and an outdoor pool.

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Rate

Booking

I was booked into a 1 King Bed room through my company. We had a rate designated for the convention, but it was in line with the Standard Rate above. If you’re redeeming World of Hyatt points, this hotel ranges between 9,000 points for a standard room and 30,000 points per night for a premium suite (depending on if the date is considered off-peak, standard, or a peak redemption).

Transportation to the Hotel

I took an Uber Premium from Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) to the hotel. It cost $38 and took around 16 minutes for the 7.4-mile ride. Returning to the airport cost around the same and took about an equal amount of time.

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Check In

Check-in

I arrived around 3:30 PM and my suite was ready. When I completed a mobile check-in earlier in the day, I had noticed that I was upgraded to a 1 Bedroom King Suite View. I was excited to check it out. The agent checking me in was happy to tell me that as a Globalist I was upgraded and had access to the Hyatt Regency Club on the fifth floor. I was asked if I needed a late checkout and gladly accepted 2:00 PM (I was offered until 4:00 PM). I was in my suite a few minutes later.

Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City Hallway

The hallways are new and freshly painted. The carpet was clean throughout. I was at the end of the hall.

There are 700 rooms including 33 suites at the hotel. I was assigned a room on the 13th floor. I can be a bit superstitious, but I went with it and enjoyed this suite.

The suite has the dining and living area straight ahead and the bathroom and bedroom to the right. I liked the table with the natural elements in the foyer.

The dining/living room combo opened with a table that seats six.

It had a refrigerator near it. Two bottles of complimentary water were inside.

To the right is the living room. It held a TV, chair, several tables, and a couch.

This was a large, comfy space.

Heading the other way, you’ll find the bathroom and bedroom.

A huge open closet lined the left wall. The safe, an extra blanket, a coffeemaker, coffee pods and condiments, glasses, and an ice bucket were found here.

A cabinet on the other side held an iron and ironing board.

The king-sized bed was comfortable and it was flanked by two nightstands.

There were lots of outlets here.

A TV was on the wall opposite the bed.

A chair and table were near the window.

As its name implies, this suite had great views.

The bathroom was also quite spacious. It had a vanity with double sinks, a large, glassed-in shower, and a separate room with the toilet.

The shower was large with great water pressure and temperature.

There were wall-mounted bottles of Pharmacopia shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower.

More Pharmacopia toiletries were near the sinks (this is the standard brand for Hyatt Regency properties).

The toilet was in a separate room to the right.

Overall Impression:

I loved my second stay here. Not much changed with any of the amenities reviewed during my first stay (more here). You can’t beat the location of this hotel if you’re headed to the convention center. It’s also convenient for anything you want to do downtown. The rooms are comfortable and the Regency Club offers a nice breakfast and snacks. The other amenities are top notch.
