We’re spending a long weekend in Paris. I found a good Business Class fare from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) on Air France and decided to go see more Christmas markets. Before our flight, we had some time to check out the KLM Crown Lounge. The lounge just reopened on September 12th after being closed for renovations.
Access
Access is granted to passengers flying in Business Class or La Première on Air France, Flying Blue Gold or Platinum members, SkyTeam premium cabin passengers, and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers. The lounge also accepts Priority Pass memberships and offers day passes for $50 per passenger. A same-day boarding pass is required to enter the KLM Crown Lounge.
Anthony’s Take: This lounge won’t wow you, but it was fine for a short layover. It offers a decent buffet, free drinks, Wi-Fi, and enough seating for the few Air France and KLM flights it serves each day. There is a Plaza Premium Lounge across the hall. I did not visit, but the KLM Crown Lounge looked nicer from the outside looking in.
After entering, there is a desk staffed with agents to check credentials.
A model KLM plane was on the desk.
A departures board is across from the desk.
Bar
There is a self-serve bar area with wine, liquor, beer, water, coffee, and soft drinks near the buffet in the center of the lounge.
Several types of wine were available.
Liquor was also available on the counter.
Refrigerators held beer and more wine.
Soft drinks were also found here. It was a bit disorganized.
A self-serve coffee machine was located nearby.
Food
Lunch/dinner was being served during my visit. The buffet has several hot dishes, soup, breads, vegetables, meats, cheeses, snacks, and desserts.
Bread and crackers
Roasted Garlic & Tomato Bisque
Chicken Coconut Curry
Basmati Rice
Hot & Sour Chicken and Vegetable Mix
Roasted Mushroom & Cheese Tortellini and Chicken Thai Spring Rolls
Salad ingredients and fruit
Meat and cheese
Cookies
Bars
Whole fruit
Seating & Decor
The lounge looked recently refreshed (it reopened in September) and it offers seating for 161 guests.
Tables were near the buffet.
Seating was divided between several rooms.
There were cabana-like wooden areas on the side of the lounge near the buffet.
We found a quiet corner off to the side.
Amenities
This lounge offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, and the food and beverages mentioned above.
Overall Impression:
This lounge was nothing special, but it served its purpose for our short layover. It offered some decent food and had plenty of seating.
