There has been a lot of speculation the past few days around targeted promotions for Hyatt members. FlyerTalk has been buzzing with the possibility of double qualifying nights, free-night certificates, double points, and more. All of these sounded exciting. I was anxiously awaiting an email. Would I get to earn free nights, have my stays count twice, or even earn double miles? Miles to Memories details all of the possibilities here. There are some decent promos here.
These targeted offers include:
- Free Night Award (Category 1-4) after a minimum two night stay; register here
- Free Night Award (Category 1-4) after a minimum three night stay; register here
- Suite Upgrade Award after every five qualifying nights, up to two; register here

I finally received the email this evening. And, to put it nicely, the promotion kind of sucks and will be of no use to me. I rarely, if ever, stay three nights in the same hotel unless it is for business and those stays are mostly at Marriott properties due to what is nearby my corporate office. I have no three-night stays planned during the promotion period and this is not going to get me to book any. If you try to register for one of the promos above and you’re not preselected, you’ll get a message saying that you are ineligible for the offer.
Here are the details:
The terms tout that I can earn up to 30,000 points. By my math (which I admit is not my best subject), I would need to spend $4,615 to earn the full amount of points. And, only stays of three nights or longer would count.
Anthony’s Take: I will not be registering for this promo or attempting to earn a single point from it. I emailed my Hyatt Concierge (I actually haven’t spoke to her since she sent me an email in February 2022 informing me that she would be my concierge for the year…you can see how much I value having a concierge) to ask if it’s possible to switch promotions to something that is actually worth something. I’ll update if I’m successful.
Anthony’s Credit Card Pick: When I’m staying at a Hyatt hotel, I want to maximize my points earned. My card of choice is the World of Hyatt Credit Card. With it, I earn four points for each dollar spent at Hyatt hotels (on top of five base points earned by regular World of Hyatt members). It also includes a free night at any Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel each year after your first anniversary and the ability to earn more free nights after spending $15,000 on the card (another Category 1-4 Hyatt hotel free night award is earned). Plus, it helps me retain my World of Hyatt status with five qualifying night credits for having the card and the ability to earn two more qualifying nights for every $5,000 I spend on the card. Mine is marginally better, 1500 pts for a 2 night stay. I’ve thought about writing, too, but in the end we don’t really know – yet – if anyone got the really nice ones noised about over the weekend.
That’s true. I’m not sure how they select who gets what offer.
How is it I didn’t get one offer – even as a globalist?
I’m not sure how they select who gets an offer. I’ve had other quarters with none.
I got the same offer. I have two big vacations planned before March 19th but there are only 2 stays of three nights (Seoul and Kyoto) which are cash stays, so I’ll get a few points, but not many. Check out my blog post about the hysteria this past weekend on the Will Run For Miles blog (also on Boarding Area). https://willrunformiles.boardingarea.com/anatomy-of-leaked-rumors-of-promotions/
I was really hoping for one of the better promos. I don’t need the double nights one, but I would have gladly taken extra suite upgrades, free nights, or points based on non-consecutive nights. I read your post when it went live and lol’ed. I’m glad you’re able to use the promo you got. Both Seoul and Kyoto are great. We loved seeing the monkeys at the Iwatayama Monkey Park in Kyoto.
My offer is for two suite night awards after ten nights. Not the best promo but I registered immediately.
I would have loved that one. Congrats!
Might want to check the wording on the offer. I think you get one suite upgrade after ten nights, but you can do it twice.
