After attending one conference in Denver, I was off to Orlando for another. I spent the night at the massive Hyatt Regency Orlando. The hotel is conveniently located next to the Orange County Convention Center and was just a quick walk to my conference.

Anthony’s Take: The hotel is huge with 1,641 rooms and suites in two massive towers, an excellent Regency Club, several restaurants, two pools, spa, and fitness center. A lot of the hotel was being renovated during my visit, including a large portion of the lobby. The Regency Club had an excellent breakfast buffet as well as complimentary soft drinks throughout the day. My room had a view of the pool, which was wasted on me since I was there on business and did not have time to enjoy it.

Hyatt Regency Orlando Rate

Booking

My company booked me a 1 King Bed room on a negotiated conference rate (well below Standard Rates). The hotel is a Category 4 property and room redemptions range from 12,000 to 18,000 per night when redeeming World of Hyatt points for a standard room.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

I took an Uber Comfort from Orlando International Airport (MCO). The approximately 13-mile ride took 16 minutes and cost $30.85. When I left Orlando, I drove to Tampa to begin getting my place ready for the winter.

Location

The hotel is conveniently located near the Orange County Convention Center (just 1,942 steps). It’s not too far from the airport and Universal Orlando is also nearby.

Hyatt Regency Orlando Check-In

Check-in

I arrived at the hotel around midnight and my room was ready. The agent checking me didn’t tell me much. I asked about the Regency Club and she explained that it’s located in Tower 2 on the 26th Floor. She told me that I was upgraded to a 1 King Bed, Pool View room. She also offered me late checkout (which I accepted).

Hyatt Regency Orlando Resort Fee

The hotel has a $38 per night resort fee. This was waived for me as a Globalist.
