Last month, Hyatt announced plans for a new short-term vacation rental platform called Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. It features short-term rentals of private homes throughout the United States and offers World of Hyatt members direct booking access to everything from beach houses to penthouses to ski chalets. It has now launched and bookings can be made on the new platform.
World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem points for these stays, as well as to earn tier-qualifying nights, and tier bonuses. There are no elite perks offered for bookings here. World of Hyatt points can be redeemed for free nights, but Hyatt free night awards and Points + Cash bookings are not options.
All bookings earn 5x World of Hyatt points and elite bonuses apply. Elite members can earn 10% to 30% bonus points based on status level.

Marriott debuted its own home booking platform known as Homes & Villas by Marriott in 2019. It offers over 25,000 home rentals located in 240 destinations throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Anthony’s Take: I am not a fan of home rentals and have selectively used Airbnb and VRBO through the years. There have been some Amex Offers for Homes & Villas by Marriott through the years, but the cost never could be justified in my eyes. I don’t see myself booking homes here, either.
