Hilton announced earlier this year that it was partnering with AutoCamp to offer guests the ability to stay in custom Airstreams and luxury tents. This would provide guests access to outdoor adventure with the comforts of a boutique hotel. While I am not a camper (at least not since my Boy Scout days), this might make me consider staying in the great outdoors. The first property has now come online and guests can now book the AutoCamp Cape Cod.
AutoCamp Cape Cod is a 14-acre property along the Shining Sea Bikeway (near the Cape’s beaches). This is the brand’s first location on the East Coast and it offers 108 suites, including custom Airstreams, Luxury Tents, and cabins. A two-story, 8,100-square-foot Clubhouse sits at the center of the property, which includes AutoCamp’s signature indoor and outdoor communal fire pits.
Hilton Honors members will be able to earn and redeem Points and enjoy the on-property benefits based on their Hilton Honors status:
- Silver: Two eco-friendly waters
- Gold: One bundle of firewood per stay, two eco-friendly waters, and a space available upgrade
- Diamond: One s’mores kit per stay, one bundle of firewood per stay, two eco-friendly waters, and a space available upgrade
There are three options, including a Luxury Tent, AirStream Suite, and Premium AirStream Suite.
These are also available for points redemptions starting at 70,000 per night.
During the initial test period, members will not earn points on ancillary spend, but Hilton will offer a special welcome bonus of 1,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points for each stay completed by August 12th.
This is the first property in the AutoCamp and Hilton partnership, but there are eight locations in total.
Chris Silcock, Hilton’s President of Global Brands and Commercial Services, said:
We know today’s travelers are craving adventures when planning their next trip, and that’s why we look for innovative and like-minded partners like AutoCamp. This is the first time a major hospitality brand and outdoor lodging company have come together in this way to create even more choices for travelers while redefining the outdoor hospitality experience.”
In the next few weeks, Hilton guests will be able to book all eight AutoCamp properties.
Anthony’s Take: This is a cool opportunity and one that I would consider under the right circumstances. I need electricity, running water, and a bathroom to rough it. This might be a way for me to give it a try.
