Back in January, I wrote about Cayman Airways adding nonstop flights between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Grand Cayman’s Owen Roberts International Airport (GCM). Now, Austinites looking for a tropical escape now have a new reason to celebrate 512 Day.

To mark the launch of new nonstop flights, the airline and the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism are rolling out the “512 to 345 Ticket Drop.” This limited-time promotion gives travelers the opportunity to unlock complimentary round-trip flights for a favorite travel companion. The promotion ties together Austin’s iconic 512 area code with the Cayman Islands’ 345 code. It encourages Central Texans to swap everyday routines for a Caribbean getaway just as the airline prepares to launch its all-new nonstop service on May 24th.
Beginning May 12th, travelers can participate in a series of weekly booking windows that open at exactly 5:12 PM CT. During each drop, a limited number of seats will be released for the new route. Travelers who move quickly and secure qualifying bookings may also unlock a complimentary round-trip ticket for a plus-one.
The ticket drop dates include:
- May 12th
- May 19th
- May 24th
- June 2nd
Travelers can access the promotion through Cayman Airways’ dedicated campaign page here. The campaign leans heavily into the idea of an “area code swap,” inviting travelers to exchange familiar Texas experiences for island adventures in the Cayman Islands.
That includes:
- Swapping Barton Springs mornings for walks along Seven Mile Beach
- Trading Texas BBQ for fresh seafood and Caribbean cuisine
- Exchanging paddleboarding on Lady Bird Lake for snorkeling and diving at Stingray City
- Replacing Austin’s fast pace with the relaxed atmosphere of Grand Cayman’s East End
The Cayman Islands continue to position themselves as both a luxury and adventure destination, particularly for US travelers looking for shorter-haul tropical vacations.
Cayman Airways says passengers flying the new route will receive several complimentary amenities included in the fare.
Economy travelers can expect:
- Complimentary Seven Fathoms Rum Punch
- Meal service
- Streaming entertainment to personal devices
- One free carry-on bag and one personal item
- Complimentary standard seat selection
Travelers looking for a more premium experience will also have the option to book the airline’s Business Class cabin.
Anthony’s Take: The launch of the new route represents another international addition for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), which has continued to grow its nonstop destination offerings as demand for leisure travel remains strong. This is a fun way to get two tickets for the price of one.
