I’ve written a lot about CLEAR and find that it’s a good membership to have in your travel toolkit. The service continues to expand with new airports frequently added. CLEAR announced today that started to roll out its new EnVe Pods. This face-first biometric technology that powers identity verification is promised to be five times faster and don’t require fingerprints or a retinal scan.
The new EnVe Pods (EnVe stands for “enrollment and verification”) enable members to verify their identity in just seconds. They’re powered by high-resolution, wide-angle cameras and CLEAR’s NextGen Identity+. EnVe Pods are set to reduce the number of steps for CLEAR® Plus members for even faster identity verification.
CLEAR has brought EnVe pods to 12 airports to date. These include:
- Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)
- Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF)
- Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG)
- Denver International Airport (DEN)
- New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
- Oakland International Airport (OAK)
- Orlando International Airport (MCO)
- Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT)
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC)
- San Francisco International Airport (SFO)
- San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC)
The EnVe Pods will continue to be added across all 58 airports that CLEAR serves throughout 2025. CLEAR CEO, Caryn Seidman Becker, said:

Anthony’s Take: CLEAR® Plus is great when it works. I find too often that I’m asked to verify my ID (which defeats the purpose) or the employees are inefficient and just chatting. We’ll see how these new pods work in action.
