China Eastern Airlines serves 213 destinations in 31 countries and it’s a member of SkyTeam. Today, it announced that it will be the first Chinese airline to offer nonstop service between China and Turkiye.

Starting on September 28th, flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) and Istanbul Airport (IST). Istanbul is dominated by Turkish Airlines and it serves 340 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas from its hub there.

Istanbul

Istanbul, is located on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait, which makes it the only city in the world to span two continents.

Anthony’s Take: Demand for travel between China and the rest of the world is just restarting post pandemic. New routes like this one offer nonstop options to get between major cities without the hassle of connections.

“China Eastern Airlines serves 1,088 destinations in 184 countries.”

LOL. That sounds like SkyTeam’s numbers. No way China Eastern flies to anywhere remotely near 184 countries.
