Alaska Airlines is continuing its California expansion with four new nonstop routes to/from Santa Rosa’s Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) to further strengthen its presence across the state while adding new travel options for both leisure and business passengers.

To/from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS), Alaska will launch three new seasonal routes beginning November 1st. These include:
- Boise Airport (BOI) (up to 1x daily through April 19th)
- Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) (1x daily through April 21st)
- Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) (up to 1x daily service through April 21st)
Alaska was the first airline to bring commercial service to Santa Rosa nearly two decades ago and remains the airport’s largest carrier. The addition of Boise and Salt Lake City introduces two previously unserved markets from the North Bay, while Phoenix adds another popular destination (and American hub) to bring the airport’s total number of nonstop routes to 12. The new routes are timed to coincide with the winter travel season and offer convenient access to ski destinations and warm-weather getaways.
Alaska is also restoring service between Long Beach Airport (LGB) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). This marks the airline’s return to the route after a decade-long hiatus. Service begins on September 8th and will operates 2x daily. With this addition, Alaska will become the only airline serving Seattle from all five major airports in the Los Angeles Basin.
Travelers flying from Santa Rosa can also take advantage of Alaska’s Wine Flies Free program, which allows guests to check a case of wine (up to 12 bottles) at no cost, which makes it easier to bring home selections from Northern California’s wine country.
Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Alaska Airlines, said:
Alaska is committed to California, and we’re proud to offer guests across the state even more options for their next vacation or work trip. Whether you’re in Santa Rosa looking for a winter escape to the snow or sun, or a SoCal traveler looking for a convenient alternative to the region’s busiest airports, this expansion has you covered.”
Anthony’s Take: Alaska Airlines’ latest expansion underscores its commitment to California with new routes from Santa Rosa and the return of Long Beach to/from Seattle service. By adding both leisure and connectivity-focused destinations, the airline is continuing to grow its footprint while offering more options for travelers across the West Coast.
