One of the final phases of Delta Air Lines’ $2.3 billion Sky Way at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is set to open tomorrow, June 1st. Delta One® passengers are about to have an even more luxe experience when traveling though the airport with a dedicated check-in lounge.
An exclusive Delta One® check-in area will be located on the lower Arrivals level of Terminal 3. It will offer a private TSA screening lane and direct access to the Delta Sky Club®. Delta One® customers will enter the lounge to find refreshing towels, light food and beverage offerings, and dedicated agents to get passengers on their way.
The Experience
Delta markets itself as the “premium global carrier” in Los Angeles and this curb-to-gate experience will reinforce this premium claim. The new check-in area is on the Arrivals level of Terminal 3 so that passengers can avoid the traffic from Departures. The new 4,200-square-foot check-in lounge will check guests in from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM daily. It’s open to Delta One® passengers and Delta 360° members flying in any class of service.
Travelers will find comfortable couches, cold towels, and snacks and drinks to enjoy as they check in. There are also private restrooms that can be used before heading to the private TSA checkpoint (there are lanes for both TSA PreCheck and regular passengers here). After security, passengers will find two private elevators to take them directly into the Sky Club®. Delta’s Sky Club® in Terminal 3 at LAX is one of its best and it now has an additional 100 seats thanks to some redesigning (my full review can be found here). All that’s left is for guests to relax in the lounge until it’s time to board. Delta One® passengers will have their own Delta One® (Business Class) lounge opening in Q1 2024.
Anthony’s Take: This is definitely a premium experience and it will be interesting to see which other hubs get this treatment (JFK is next, but I wonder if this will show up anywhere else). I can’t wait to try it out.
