I had stayed at this hotel several years ago when it was an Andaz. It rebranded and reopened in January 2022 as the Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York. I’m not sure why the flag changed, but am happy to report that the hotel is as great overall as I remembered.
Anthony’s Take: I started working for a new company last month and its office is located just a few blocks away. The hotel’s lobby is fun and gives a real sense of place. I was upgraded to a suite in advance and found it spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was just awful. I probably should have ordered a la carte, but the buffet was bad. Service was inattentive and the food quality and variety was lacking. Aside from this miss, I like this hotel and will likely make it my home base when I’m in the city for business.
Booking
I booked directly from Hyatt.com on a “Member Rate.” The hotel charges a $25 Destination Fee. This was waived for me as a Globalist and removed from the folio without me having to ask. World of Hyatt points can be redeemed here for 17,000 to 23,000 points as it falls into Hyatt’s Category 5.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to the hotel and back. It cost around $45 each way and took approximately 45 minutes each way.
Location
The hotel is in the perfect location for my new office. If you have business or are looking to visit lower Manhattan (including the World Trade Center, Chinatown, Tribeca, etc.), it’s a great location. The area is a bit quiet at night, but there is a Starbucks a block away and a 24-hour Duane Reade across the street.
Check-in
I attempted to do a mobile checkin, but it did not work. The mobile key was not usable the entire stay. I arrived after a delayed flight around 10:30 PM. The agent was friendly and told me I was upgraded to a Centric Suite. It’s 610 square feet and has 12-foot ceilings to make it feel even bigger. She also gave me the Wi-Fi password, explained that breakfast is provided in the hotel’s Wall & Water restaurant, offered me two bottles of water, and asked if I needed a late checkout (I did not). I was on my way in a matter of minutes.
The Destination Fee includes everything above. It’s not really much of anything and I’m glad it was waived for me.
The lobby has plenty of seating including many tables, chairs, couches, and other options. I loved all of the NYC-themed decor. It was fun and made you know you were in New York and more specifically, Wall Street.
The center light fixture reminded me of the one in the Sky Club® at LaGuardia. (I visited on my way home and reviewed it in the past here.)
The bull by the elevators was also fitting for the locale.
The hallways are bright with high ceilings and some art.
You will always know what floor you are on.
Centric Suite High Floor (1212)
There are 253 rooms and suites at the hotel.
The suite opened into the living room.
It was a big space with a couch, tables, a TV, and a few chairs.
Next to the living room was a large bathroom. It had a single vanity, shower room with a deep tub, and a separate room with a toilet.
The shower had great water pressure and a deep tub.
The toilet was in a separate room with a glass door.
Toiletries were BeeKind brand by Gilchrist & Soames. They were fine, but nothing special.
There was a hallway next to the bathroom that led to the bedroom. A wardrobe was also near the bathroom. It had a blowdryer, iron, and ironing board inside.
A large buffet divided the bedroom. It held a TV facing the bedroom as well as a work area with chair behind it.
This cabinet also held a refrigerator and safe.
The bedroom had a king-sized bed as well as controls for all of the lights and shades. I love that this Hyatt Centric is as tech forward as the Andaz near Bryant Park.
Controls for the blinds and all of the lights were near the bed. There were also lots of USB and standard outlets.
A chair completed the furniture in the bedroom.
There was a nice note, bottle of water, and a mouse pad as a welcome amenity in the room. It’s a thoughtful touch albeit a bit odd.
Amenities
The hotel has a fitness center, a computer in the lobby for guest use, and two restaurants. I did not use the fitness center. The image above is from the hotel’s site.
The computer and printer were located next to the front desk.
Breakfast
As mentioned above, a complimentary breakfast was provided on account of my Globalist status. It was awful. Maybe I should have ordered something off of the menu, but I decided to try the buffet. I tasted a few things and nothing was good. The muffin was stale. I took a bite and spit it out. The berries tasted old. The container that was supposed to hold bacon was empty. The buffet looked picked over. I ordered a latte. It came out and I took one sip and was done. The milk was chunky and the espresso below tasted bad. The sugar packets on the table were half used and put back. The only thing worse than the food was the service. There were two employees chatting and ignoring guests. No one wore a uniform or name tag. They would seat some people and tell others to find a table themselves. Other random people came through and also chatted with them while tables sat dirty and guests looked for service. Had I paid the $35 plus tax and tip, I would have been really annoyed. I was there at 8:30 AM. Breakfast should be fully functional at that time.
The breakfast menu. Next time I’m ordering a dish as the buffet is terrible.
Berries and yogurt
More “fresh” fruit
Stale muffins
Other pastries and breads with some gourds to decorate (likely from the fall).
Self-serve orange juice
Oatmeal
Breakfast potatoes
Scrambled eggs
Overall Impression:
The Hyatt Centric Wall Street New York is a great choice for business or sightseeing in lower Manhattan. I loved my spacious suite and the employees I encountered were all helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet is awful and I’ll try a la carte next time. My hopes aren’t high. This is my only complaint and it’s certainly not enough to keep me from staying again.

I stayed in this hotel a few times while it was the Andaz. What was surprising back then was there were times when the rates in this hotel would sometimes hover around the $150 mark even in the summer, which made it an excellent value.
One time I was upgraded to what is now referred to as a Centric Premier Suite, because there were some issues with the first suite that I received. It was absolutely massive.
The rooms here, even the basic ones, are absolutely massive for NYC standards. I would probably stay here again, but I haven’t been very loyal to Hyatt in years.
Agree. The rooms and suites are huge.
Did you by chance see if the residences next door are still open? And who manages it?
During early 2020 when people were fleeing from NYC, they were selling dirt cheap. Problem is, I think the management was out of money so I didn’t jump on it.
I didn’t. I’ll be back and can report on this.
Mouse pad is an interesting gift. Though perhaps useful – when I remember to bring my wireless mouse while traveling, sometimes hotel desks aren’t the best surface. I’d probably stick it in the front pocket of my suitcase with all those other travel MacGuyver things.
Not a bad idea. it doesn’t take up much space.
“There is a Starbucks a block away and a 24-hour Duane Reade across the street.” LOL – I think this applies to literally everywhere in Manhattan.
Very true!
