Last week, I had to be in Orlando for a few days. I was hosting dinners two nights in a row at Charley’s Steakhouse and the Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration provided the perfect spot (just across the street). The hotel caters to leisure travelers, but I found it worked fine for business and was quite inexpensive.

Anthony’s Take: The Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration property offers a good option for budget-conscious travelers. It sits on 20 acres and offers two pools, a fitness center, on-site laundry, a convenience store, and five restaurants. The hotel is close to Walt Disney World® Resort, Universal Studios, and ESPN Wide World of Sports. It offers shuttles to several attractions as well.

Delta Orlando Booking

Booking

I booked a Guest Room, 1 King directly from Marriott on a “Member Rate Flexible” for $98 plus taxes (that includes a $25 Destination Fee). The hotel can also be booked with Marriott Bonvoy® points (16,000 to 34,000 points per night) with rates varying since Marriott eliminated its award categories.

Transportation to/from the Hotel

I drove from home in Tampa. It took around one hour and 13 minutes to drive the approximately 67 miles with light traffic. When I left the hotel, I drove back the same way and it took a little less time.

Location

As mentioned, the hotel is not far from the area’s amusement parks. It is also walking distance to multiple restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and more.

Delta Orlando 4

The lobby has lots of seating and is bright and airy.

Check-in

The property is large and getting to reception is a hike if you’re parking a car. I arrived at the hotel around 2:00 PM and my room was ready. No upgrades were available or offered. I looked and the hotel was sold out when I checked in. Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members get access to the Delta Pantry. I was asked if I wanted a $10 food and beverage credit or 1,000 points as a welcome amenity. I took the points. There is a destination fee, but this was not mentioned to me at check-in, so I did not use anything included with it. I hate these fees and wish I would have at least known about it. My keys were printed and I was off to my room moments later.

Delta Orlando Destination Fee

Elevators were not in the same building as reception (as I was assigned Building 6).

Delta Orlando 6

I had to walk on a path to the building and find the elevator in there.

Delta Orlando 8

The elevator lobby and hallway on my floor were clean and in good repair.

Delta Orlando 9

Guest Room, 1 King (6804)

There are 718 rooms and suites at the Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration.

Delta Orlando 10

The room opened with a closet to the right and the bathroom on the left.

Delta Orlando 11

Delta Orlando 12

The closet held a safe, a luggage rack, an iron, and an ironing board.

Delta Orlando 13

The bathroom offered a vanity with a single sink, a shower/tub combo (which I hate), and a toilet.

Delta Orlando 14

The vanity offered a lot of counter space.

Delta Orlando 15

A bar of Soapbox brand bar soap was next to the sink.

Delta Orlando 16

A bottle of lotion was on a shelf nearby.

Delta Orlando 17

The toilet was placed between the vanity and tub without too much space.

Delta Orlando 18

The shower/tub combo worked fine. Water pressure and temperature were both good.

Delta Orlando 19

Bottles of Soapbox brand toiletries were mounted to the wall.

Delta Orlando 20

The bedroom filled the rest of the space. It offered a king-sized bed, two nightstands, a chair with small table, a desk and chair, a TV, and a cabinet that held a refrigerator, as well as a table that served as a minibar.

Delta Orlando 22

Delta Orlando 21

The desk was in the corner near the windows. The TV was mounted across from the bed.

Delta Orlando 23

The refrigerator was inside.

Delta Orlando 24

A table in the corner held the coffeemaker, bottled water, coffee, tea, condiments, paper cups, glasses, and an ice bucket.

Delta Orlando 25

This chair was next to the bed by the windows.

Delta Orlando 26

The room did not offer much of a view.

Delta Orlando 27

Delta Pantry

The Delta Pantry offers breakfast, snacks, and beverages throughout the day and evening. It’s open to Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members. There were some snacks when I visited, but nothing too healthy (other than the fresh fruit).

Delta Orlando 28

The counter in the center has a breakfast spread here in the mornings.

Delta Orlando 29

Delta Orlando 33

The refrigerator held water, sparkling water, juice, milk, and some sandwiches.

Public Areas & Amenities

The hotel has a fitness center, two pools, a small business center, a mini market, on-site laundry, tennis courts, and several restaurants. Most of the amenities are near the main building and reception.

Delta Orlando 42

The two pools were not overly crowded.

Delta Orlando 43

Delta Orlando 44

There were also several decorative waterfalls.

Delta Orlando 46

There were a few computers and a printer across from reception. The on-site laundry was across the building.

Delta Orlando 47

The fitness center was near the pools.

Delta Orlando 48

It was on the small side.

Delta Orlando 49

There was what you’d expect equipment wise. Towels and water were offered.

Delta Orlando 51

Tennis court access is part of the Destination Fee.

Overall Impression:

I wouldn’t stay here for vacation (too many children), but if you’re with family or looking for an inexpensive place to stay near the amusement parks, the Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration is a solid choice. I found the staff to be friendly and the property well maintained, overall.
