I will be flying to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) later this week. I have been dreading this trip since yesterday when TSA PreCheck and Global Entry were shut down. TSA PreCheck was immediately brought back, but Global Entry seems to still be unavailable. Or, is it?

Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) posted on X this morning that Global Entry/NEXUS lanes had reopened at US Preclearance. I hope this is correct as it will save me tons of time.

Other airports are reporting that their lanes are open as well, but there does not seem to be consistency.

Anthony’s Take: It’s unknown whether Global Entry is working at some airports, all airports, or no airports. Reports are conflicting. It makes no sense to shut this program down and it will hopefully be working when I need it.

Flew in 02/23 TPAC -> SFO on 02/23 at ~4PM PST. GE machines were all non-operational with the ‘maintenance’ disclaimer. However, the GE line was still open and available for queuing. All GE members had to line up and be processed manually via CBP, e.g. picture taken, passport scanned, questions asked.

As you can imagine, It was ridiculously slow. MPC line was backed up as well.
