JetBlue will begin flying to Florida’s Emerald Coast with the launch of new nonstop flights to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) beginning March 5th. The airline will operate 5x weekly seasonal flights from both Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to connect travelers from the Northeast to one of Florida’s most scenic beach destinations.
Known for its emerald-green waters and sugar-white beaches, the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area has rapidly grown as a favorite leisure destination for families and couples. JetBlue’s new routes make it easier than ever for travelers from Boston and New York to experience Florida’s Panhandle, which has traditionally been underserved by major Northeast carriers.
These new flights mark another milestone in JetBlue’s accelerated Florida expansion. In just the past year, the airline has announced or launched over 30 new routes across the state, including upcoming service to Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB) and Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB). The new Destin routes complement JetBlue’s existing network to key Florida airports such as OrlandoInternational Airport (MCO), Tampa International Airport (TPA), and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
Florida remains a cornerstone of JetBlue’s network. Since its earliest days flying to Fort Lauderdale, the airline has built a strong presence across the state, adding destinations and expanding operations to meet surging demand for leisure travel.

In early 2026, JetBlue will open a new Mint® base for inflight crewmembers in Fort Lauderdale, underscoring its long-term commitment to South Florida and enhancing its premium service offering. The airline will also become the largest carrier at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) this winter, operating more daily departures than any other airline.
To celebrate the launch, JetBlue is offering introductory fares starting at $49 one-way. Customers will enjoy JetBlue’s signature inflight experience, featuring free high-speed Fly-Fi® Wi-Fi, live seatback TV, complimentary snacks and drinks, and spacious seating (all standard on every flight).
Dave Jehn, JetBlue’s Vice President of Network Planning and Airline Partnerships, said:
Florida continues to be a place where JetBlue’s combination of great service and value resonates strongly with travelers. By adding Destin–Fort Walton Beach to our map, we’re bringing more choices to customers in Boston and New York while opening the door for Emerald Coast residents to connect easily to the Northeast and beyond.”
Anthony’s Take: My best friend has a home in the area and raves about it. I have not been, but need to get over to visit and check out the beautiful beaches.
