An email that I received this morning made me laugh. Capital One Travel sent the message with the subject line “Book now: Get up to $0 off your luxury escape.” The body of the email continued to offer the stellar savings of 0% off (up to $0) on “newly added vacation rentals from the Premier and Lifestyle Collections.” With a deal like that, how could you refuse?

This continued into the terms and conditions with the following shared:

This is a limited-time offer that will provide eligible customers a discount of 0% off (up to $0) on an eligible vacation rental made via Capital One Travel during the offer period. This offer will only be available until the earlier of (i) Sep. 30, 2025, or (ii) while supplies last; the offer is only available for the primary cardholder, and there may only be one booking per account. The discount will be provided as a one-time, single discount not exceeding $0. Once applied, the discount will not be available for other reservations, even if the qualifying reservation is modified or canceled.”

Capital One Rental Homes 2

Capital One’s Premier and Lifestyle Collections offer more than 7,500 premium vacation rentals. It’s similar to Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy or Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. At least Marriott is currently offering 10% off. Benefits to booking through Capital One include the following:

  • An experience credit: $100 for Premier Collection or $50 for Lifestyle Collection bookings.
  • 5x miles earned for spend on vacation rentals booked here.
  • Early check-in and late checkout when available.

Anthony’s Take: This made me laugh, so I thought I’d share it. Clearly, the deal was not meant to be $0 off. It’s funny that it continues throughout the terms and all mentions in the email.
