Hawaiian Airlines announced today that it is bumping up the frequency on several routes based on strong demand this winter. Flights between Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), and Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) will all see more Hawaiian planes.
Increased frequencies to/from Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) include:
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (a 5th daily flight is being added between November 21st and December 1st; December 19th and January 6th)
- Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) (a 4th daily widebody flight is being added between late November and mid-April). Alaska Airlines will also offer service 2x daily.
- Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) (increases from 5x weekly to daily between December 18th and January 31st)
Hawaiian will also replace the Airbus A330 with the Boeing 787 on its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to/from Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT) in early January (through mid-April). The Boeing 787 features Hawaiian’s new Leihōkū Suites with lie-flat seating, direct aisle access, larger windows, and advanced inflight entertainment.
Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines, said:
We’re excited to offer our guests more options to connect with loved ones or enjoy a warm winter getaway. These schedule enhancements reflect our commitment to providing convenient, comfortable travel during the busiest travel period of the year.”
Anthony’s Take: Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines are hitting their stride and building out an enhanced schedule. It seems like the integration process is going well between the two airlines and demand for flights is high based on these additions.
