On our way home to the United States after having all of our things stolen in Como, we spent some time in the Lufthansa First Class Lounge Munich Satellite location before boarding the flight back to New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) (review here). Lufthansa does First Class right and this lounge was a calm oasis while we were still rattled from our bad experience. The facilities, staff, food, and overall experience are top notch. While I prefer the First Class Terminal (review here) in Frankfurt Airport (FRA) (mostly just because it’s so cool that there is a separate terminal), this lounge checked every box. There are two First Class Lounges operated by Lufthansa at Munich International Airport (MUC). This is the newer of the two locations.

Access

Access is granted to passengers traveling in Lufthansa First Class or connecting to a SWISS First Class flight. HON Circle members in Lufthansa’s Miles & More program (equivalent to United’s Global Services status level, but with really high published criteria) also have access.

We were driven in a private van to the lounge after arriving on an Air Dolomiti flight from Silvio Berlusconi Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) and quickly welcomed upon arrival.

Anthony’s Take: I have long been a fan of Lufthansa’s First Class Lounges. This one offered everything we needed for our layover before heading onward to the US.  I love the minimalist design, service, and just about everything Lufthansa has to offer here.

Bar

The bar is toward the back of the lounge and near the dining area. It has just about every type of alcohol and spirit you could imagine.

We had an Espresso Martini and a Bitter Lemon.

Select liqueurs were on display.

Food

Breakfast was being served during our visit. The buffet has cold cuts, cheeses, smoked fish, bread, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and desserts. There is also a la carte dining. We were not hungry, so we did not do a sit-down lunch. There are more than enough tables for the number of guests that were there on our visit and I have never found the dining area to be crowded in any of Lufthansa’s First Class Lounges.

Seating & Decor

There is tons of seating in this lounge. It’s divided up into smaller areas for added privacy. We selected seats near the window up front. Decor is limited, but I love the minimalist design. The lounge also has tons of natural light.

A Cigar Lounge offers more seats and the ability to smoke cigars (although I have never seen anyone do that there).

Amenities

The First Class Lounge offers extensive food and beverage options. It also has the Cigar Lounge and relaxation area/nap room (that I did not photograph), as well as private shower suites with bathtubs, some magazines (pictured above), and plenty of staff to assist at every turn.

Reservations for the shower suites can be easily made.

The shower suites are gorgeous and such a nice way to freshen up. I did not use it, but asked to take some pictures.

Toiletries were Lufthansa branded.

Even if you are not showering, a Lufthansa First Class duck is a must. We have collected quite a few.

A desk up front was there to assist with transportation.

Overall Impression:

I will never grow tired of Lufthansa’s First Class Lounges. Everything is simply elegant and relaxing. It’s an experience that I recommend everyone try at least once. Miles certainly make it possible if the ticket prices are out of reach. The service was friendly throughout and we walked to the gate to board shortly thereafter.

Nice. I plan on reading your review of the FRA lounge next for a comparison. Did the nap room have a door or was it alcoves?
