Back in January, I wrote about the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort accepting reservations. The property is now officially open. This is the second St. Regis resort that has opened in the Caribbean this year (the St. Regis Aruba Resort opened in January).
The hotel is located around 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) and offers 200 guestrooms and 36 suites.
Guest rooms are designed to highlight the beauty of the surrounding cliffs and sea while evoking a sense of refined comfort that includes natural textures and a soothing color palette of soft, oceanic blues and sandy neutrals.
Amenities include four pools, beach, spa, fitness center, a kids club, and nine food and beverage outlets including its flagship Nina Restaurant (that is run by award-winning Peruvian Chef Diego Muñoz of World’s 50 Best Restaurants fame), Cassava (the resort’s Latin American-inspired restaurant), the rooftop bar known as Cielo Mio, Marola Mediterranean Grill, Kawa Coffee Shop, El Huerto (plant-based dining), Carey Bay (beach bar), The Amber Room (for cocktails), and the iconic St. Regis Bar found in every property. The resort is also near the Punta Espada golf course, which was designed by Jack Nicklaus.
George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader of St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, said:
We are thrilled to debut The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort, bringing the timeless elegance of St. Regis to the Dominican Republic for the first time. Set along the pristine shores of Cap Cana, this glamorous new hideaway embraces the island’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture while offering the brand’s signature sophistication, bespoke service, and timeless rituals that have defined St. Regis for over 120 years. As we continue to expand into the world’s most coveted leisure destinations — with plans to double our resort portfolio over the next decade — The St. Regis Cap Cana Resort exemplifies our vision of creating exquisite escapes that blend tradition with contemporary refinement for global travelers and locals alike.”
The hotel is now bookable on Marriott.com. Cash rates start around $587 with Marriott Bonvoy® redemptions ranging from 104,000 to 180,000 points. It’s annoying that rates begin at 102,000 points as that makes using a free night certificate plus points to top it off impossible.
Anthony’s Take: I’m excited to see the St. Regis brand continue to grow in the Caribbean and Florida. I still need to get to the new St. Regis Longboat Key. I had plans to go there, but they changed due to other commitments.
