On our way home from Mexico City, we stopped at two lounges found in Terminal 2 of Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez (MEX). I already reviewed The Centurion® Lounge by American Express (review here), which was actually our second stop. Upon exiting security, we took the elevator up and spent some time in Aeromexico’s Salon Premier. Two of these are operated in the airport (one in Terminal 1 and the one we visited in Terminal 2). This lounge was packed, which made photos a bit difficult.
Access
Access is granted to passengers with a Salon Premier membership, those with one-day passes, those with Aeromexico Premier Class tickets, Club Premier Titanium, Platinum, or Corporate Platinum Level Club Premier Members, Elite Plus members from SkyTeam airlines, LATAM Premium Business Customers, LATAM Pass Customers, and those with a Lounge Key Card, Diners Club Card, The American Express Aeroméxico Platinum or Gold Card, The American Express Corporate Card Aeromexico, The American Express Gold Corporate Card Aeroméxico, Santander Aeroméxico Platinum, and Santander Aeroméxico Infinite. A same-day boarding pass operated by Aeromexico or another SkyTeam airlines is also required.
Anthony’s Take: For the best experience, head straight to the back of the lounge and go upstairs. This area seems fairly hidden to most and during our visit there were only one to two people up there versus the packed lounge that was found on the main floor. The buffet was untouched and it was much quieter. The Salon Premier overall is fine. It offers space to pass some time and a respectable buffet. If I had to choose, I would head to the nearby Centurion® Lounge by American Express, but Aeromexico has a fairly solid offering here.
Bar
There are two circular bars found on the main level of the lounge. Alcoholic beverages as well as coffee drinks are served from here. The bars have seating and these were pretty full during our visit.
A list of alcoholic beverages was posted on the bar. These are all complimentary.
Additionally, there were multiple beer, soda, and water cases on both levels.
Smaller cases for Heineken and Stella Artois were downstairs.
Upstairs there was another beer case as well as two mini ones for Modelo and Heineken.
Apple and Orange juice were also available on both floors.
Hot and cold water were also available.
Food
Breakfast was served during our visit. The lounge offers pastries, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and a station that had an employee making made-to-order chilaquiles. The buffet upstairs was much quieter and less picked over.

The downstairs buffet was swarmed with people acting like locusts. Upstairs there was no one even near the food (pictured above).
Seating & Decor
As stated, this space is split between two levels with lots of seating on both. The lower floor has high ceilings, which makes it feel open. Decor is minimal and the space does feel bright. I preferred upstairs for its quiet and views over the lower floor of the lounge. Seating is split between chairs, dining tables, and places at the bar.
There were not many seats on the main level.
If you head to the back wall, you’ll find a staircase.
This leads to a smaller space with lots of dining tables.

Amenities
This lounge offers the food and beverages above, Wi-Fi, magazines (pictured above), an ATM, and departure boards. There is no spa, kid’s room, or other amenities offered.

Overall Impression:
Aeromexico’s Salon Premier in Terminal 2 has lots of seating and lots of people to fill those seats during our visit. The food looked pretty good and the second floor is a nice, hidden oasis. I would return again if in the airport, but I’d eat at The Centurion® Lounge from American Express.
