Small Luxury Hotels of the World™ (SLH) entered into a partnership with Hilton this year. More than 400 of the hotels in its portfolio are eligible for points earning and award redemptions by Hilton Honors members. Now, SLH has announced that it’s opening 11 new properties in 2025 including one that has piqued my interest.

The seven new SLH hotels opening in 2025 are located in Italy, Denmark, Galapagos Islands, Greece, Portugal, and Australia. These include:

  • The Plein Hotel: This 13-room property in Milan runs by the mantra “your hotel, your rules.” It’s known for its cuisine and nightlife. Look for it to open in January 2025.
  • Park Lane Copenhagen: Minutes from the sea in Copenhagen’s northern quarter, the 69-room property features a unique wine experience and will open in January 2025.
  • The Goethe Hotel: This property is an easy walk to some of Rome’s iconic sites like the Trevi Fountain, Piazza di Spagna, and Villa Borghese. It will open in February 2025.
  • Hermes Galapagos Mega Catamaran: April will see the Galapagos Islands open the brand’s only floating accommodation. This state-of-the-art vessel accommodates up to 20 guests in 12 opulent suites with private balconies and Jacuzzi tubs.
  • Barrington’s Hotel & Residences: This five-star property located in Almancil, Portugal will offer easy access to the Algarve’s golf facilities, beaches, and outdoor activities when it opens in April 2025.
  • Laguna Coast Resort: Naxos is an island in Greece that has been on my radar for some time. This property will join SLH’s actively sustainable Considerate Collection in May 2025 as a luxury eco-retreat overlooking the serene Laguna area.
  • Levantine Hill Hotel: Victoria, Australia will see this new boutique hotel complex open on the famed Levantine Hill Estate winery in the heart of the Yarra Valley in June 2025.

As I wrote about in October, SLH has revamped its loyalty program with new benefits for members. If SLH didn’t have the Hilton partnership, I’d look to become a member.

Finally, the hotel group marked over 600 member hotels in 2024 while expanding its global footprint to include Anguilla, Ecuador, Guatemala, India, Lithuania, Pakistan, Poland, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. Tanzania and Zanzibar will see SLH venture into more experiential properties next year with four planned. These include: Siringit Villa in Usa River, Siringit Serengeti Camp in Seronera, Siringit Migration Camp in Kogatende, and Xanadu Luxury Villas & Retreat in Zanzibar, These all provide dream safaris and beach getaways.

Anthony’s Take: SLH has an impressive portfolio of hotels around the world and it keeps adding interesting hotels. The Galapagos Island one has me particularly interested.
