Ryanair/Buzz flight FR4626 from Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) to John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK) was forced to evacuate due to smoke in the cabin. While this is alarming, there were no injuries reported. Unfortunately, passengers never seem to listen and many are seen scrambling from the aircraft with their carry-on bags in tow.

The alarm was sounded shortly after the plane left the gate. This prompted a full evacuation onto the tarmac. Emergency services and airport authorities assisted with the evacuation. Smoke can be seen in the video above, but the cause of the smoke has not yet been determined.
During an emergency evacuation, passengers are supposed to leave all personal belongings behind. This video like many others shows passengers completely disregarding this and coming down slides with bags, suitcases, and more. Taking the time to bring your carry-ons could mean life or death for people behind you in an evacuation.
Anthony’s Take: Thankfully, there were no reported injuries and the incident occurred before takeoff. It’s a shame that people can’t listen and feel the need to bring their bags.

Delta has a policy of no compensation for carry on bags so evacuation with luggage is encouraged.
It also depends on how much smoke was present. In the SFO Asiana 777 crash, an airport employee was arrested for stealing carry on luggage left on the plane.
I know the logic of running as fast as possible without luggage, though.
