UA Denver Meal 3

United added “Signature Dishes” from its hubs in 2024 and I’m continuing to taste my way through them this year. I’ve shared my reviews of other recent choices including Los Angeles (here), Washington DC (here), Houston (here), Newark (here), and Chicago (here and here). Today, while flying from Denver International Airport (DEN) to San José Mineta International Airport (SJC), I ordered the Denver Signature Dish: Colorado Style Green Chili Pork. San Francisco’s Regional Dish is now the only one that I have not tasted.

Denver Signature Dish

The Denver Signature Dish consists of Colorado style green chili pork with steamed jasmine rice, green chili sauce, and lime sour cream. This is only available when passengers select it in advance.

The tray that I received included the pork, plain white rice, and some sour cream in a metal cup, along with a  green salad, a semolina roll, and Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding. This dish was a miss all around. The pork was fatty and flavorless. The rice was also bland.

The sour cream seemed out of place and I did not eat it. The roll was warmed. While United has stepped up its game on many of its recent offerings, this is one I will never order again.

Magnolia Bakery UA

I still really enjoy the Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding. I’m happy that United signed this partnership and it was the best thing on the tray.

Anthony’s Take: This dish was not good. There is no other way to say it. The meat quality was bad and I wish it had some flavor. It also did not really look like the picture on the menu. Live and learn.
