Bouzy had been on my radar for some time. The food menu looked good and I’m a sucker for Champagne bars. We found some time last night to go and check it out. While expensive, especially for Tampa, we loved everything we tasted and found the Champagne Cellar to be the perfect spot for a date night.

Anthony’s Take: This is a great spot for a date. We loved our meals and the Champagne selection. Make sure to book the Champagne Cellar for the more romantic and quiet space. The Chips & Dip (with caviar) are a must try.

Decor & Vibe

The restaurant is split between a bright and boisterous front room and a dark and sexy Champagne Cellar.

We arrived at 9:00 PM for our reservation and the host tried to seat us in the front area. While it’s fine, it was not what I booked. She quickly found another table in the Champagne Cellar for us (this room is much quieter and sexy although it’s a misnomer as it’s on the same level as the main bar). We were seated near the actual wine vault.

This is nicely designed and feels luxe.

Food

The menu is not large, but everything that we tried was excellent. There are several sandwiches, apps, bao, and various dishes featuring caviar.

Bouzy 7

We started with the Chips & Dip, which are served with crème fraiche and caviar. Delicious and perfect with our Brut Rose.

Next, we had the Shrimp Cocktail. It was tasty, but nothing notable.

Pork Belly Bao came next. These were toasted more than I’ve ever had bao with a mix of bacon and pulled pork inside.

Bouzy 10

For an entree, I had the Faroe Island Salmon. It was one of the best salmon dishes I’ve had in a long time.

My husband had the Saffron Chicken. He loved the flavors, but found the chicken slightly overcooked.

Drinks

Bouzy offers an extensive wine list, cocktails, and a full bar. We ordered a bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose.

The bottle was chilled and brought to the table moments later.

We’ve had it before at other places and enjoyed it this time again.

Overall Impression:

The food, service, and atmosphere all impressed me at Bouzy. We enjoyed the meal thoroughly and will return for a special occasion as it was a bit pricey.
