A LATAM Airbus A321 slid off the runway while landing during heavy rains at Florianópolis International Airport – Hercílio Luz (FLN) in Brazil earlier today. The airport is currently closed and southern Brazil is currently under an extratropical cyclone alert.

The plane was arriving from São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport (GRU).

Video above shows the plane skidding off to the side. Emergency crews assisted deplaning passengers. Jet bridges were utilized and it does not look like the emergency slides were used.

Anthony’s Take: It appears as if the plane and its passengers are okay. There are not many details reported as of yet, but no injuries have been noted.
