Korean Air broke the news today that it is planning to open a new 16,000-square-foot lounge in the new Terminal One at New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK). The lounge is slated for 2026 when construction on the new terminal is complete.

The New Terminal One’s Phase A is scheduled to open in 2026 (along with this lounge). It will include expansive departures and arrivals halls and the first 14 widebody aircraft gates. The entire 2.6 million-square-foot terminal will offer 23 gates in total.

When it’s completed in 2030, Terminal One will be the largest terminal at JFK. The terminal is being built on sites now occupied by the current Terminal One, the recently closed Terminal Two, and the former Terminal Three. Air China, Air France, Air Serbia, Etihad, EVA Air, KLM, Korean Air, LOT Polish Airlines, and SAS have so far committed to being in the new terminal.

The lounge will be located at the end of the New Terminal One’s east pier. It will offer direct boarding access to aircraft (this is currently offered in the Delta Sky Club® at Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) for Delta passengers), panoramic views of the airfield, and a show kitchen and bar. The new Korean Air lounge will be filled with light and offer premium amenities for the airline’s First and Prestige Class customers as well as frequent flyers and SkyTeam members with Elite Plus.

David Pacey, Executive Vice President & Chief of In-flight Service and Lounges at Korean Air, said:

We are delighted to announce our plans to launch a new lounge at The New Terminal One (NTO) at JFK. This premier facility, with panoramic airfield views, will offer our customers departing from New York an elevated experience, featuring top-notch technology and service. We look forward to collaborating closely with NTO as we prepare for the unveiling of this state-of-the-art lounge in 2026.”

Anthony’s Take: The new Terminal One looks gorgeous and this will be one of several lounges to check out there. I have not seen any renderings yet, but will share as soon as these are released.
