Flair Airlines is a Canadian low-cost carrier based in Edmonton, Alberta. It operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft with a route network that serves Canada and several US destinations, Mexico, and the Caribbean. The carrier had been serving Orlando via Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB), but has shifted operations to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and announced four new routes according to a recent announcement.

Starting this fall, Flair will fly from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to:

  • Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) (up to 3x weekly; starts on October 29th)
  • Ontario’s London International Airport (YXU) (2x weekly; starts on December 20th)
  • Saint John Airport (YSJ) (1x weekly; starts on December 22nd)
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) (up to 12x weekly; starts on December 16th)

Flair will not be flying to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and the airport has already been removed as a choice when booking flights on the low-cost carrier’s site.

Garth Lund, CCO of Flair Airlines, said:

For travelers seeking affordable and convenient options to explore Orlando’s world-renowned attractions, Flair offers unbeatable value. This is another step in fulfilling our commitment to provide more sun, for less. Whether it’s families planning a magical vacation or sun-seeking snowbirds escaping the great Canadian winter, Flair’s mission is to make affordable air travel possible for all.”

Flair 2

Flair is getting ready for its busiest summer season yet. Its inaugural flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to
Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) is on May 31st. Flair will serve over 35 cities across Canada, the US, Mexico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic. Flair’s nine US destinations include:

  • Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)
  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)
  • Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
  • Nashville International Airport (BNA)
  • New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK)
  • Orlando International Airport (MCO)
  • Palm Springs International Airport (PSP)
  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

Anthony’s Take: I can see the appeal in shifting operations as Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the bigger airport. With Flair leaving, Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) will only have Allegiant and Sun Country serving it.
