Delta Air Lines has had pretty cool souvenirs available to passengers for quite some time. Trading cards that featured the different aircraft types in Delta’s fleet have been boarded on many of the planes you’ve likely flown. You just needed to know how to get them by asking the pilots. I’ve picked up a few of these through the years, but am far from having a complete set. It looks like I’m going to have to add some new cards to my collection as Delta has just released additional cards to celebrate its 100 years of flying.
Delta is producing more than five million cards to share with passengers. These began being handed out yesterday, March 25th. Cards include the Airbus A220-300, Boeing 717, Boeing 737-800, Airbus A321NEO, Boeing 757-200, Boeing 767-300, Airbus A330-900 and the Airbus A350. Customers flying Delta Connection can ask for the Bombardier CRJ-900 and the Embraer E175 cards.
Ryan Gumm, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Delta, said:
Delta pilots have handed out millions of trading cards over the past 22 years, with over 3 million distributed in 2024 alone. This simple, yet impactful interaction between our pilots and customers elevates and enriches the flight experience – and has created meaningful connections and memorable moments along the way.”
If you don’t feel like collecting these one by one, Delta will be selling complete sets starting in April. Customers will be able to select a commemorative gift set featuring two limited-edition Centennial livery trading cards when purchasing a physical Delta gift card at delta.com/giftcards.
Anthony’s Take: I felt like I was in the know secretly collecting these cards. The cat is out of the bag and I bet it’s going to be harder to get them going forward. Kudos to Delta for providing passengers with a unique souvenir.
