We stayed at Crockfords Las Vegas this past weekend and throughly enjoyed it. We arrived at the hotel with limited time for before the Katy Perry concert and came across Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng. Dim sum and roasted duck are high on my list of favorite foods and this restaurant had some great eats.
Anthony’s Take: Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng offers delicious dim sum and other dishes that are filling and a relative bargain compared to many casino eateries. We were able to get a table immediately and the food arrived quickly, which was great since we were pressed for time. I highly recommend the Char Siu, Roasted Duck Rice Bowl, and Peanut Butter French Toast.
The restaurant is located in the Famous Foods Street Eats market within the resort (right off of the casino floor).
Decor & Vibe
The decor is simple and looks like any number of Chinese food restaurants or dim sum parlors scattered across the US. There is a secret here, though. Behind the shelves is a speakeasy named Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den.
Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den is one of the best concealed speakeasies. We did not have time to grab cocktails there, but will be back. Note that we heard on weekends there is a two-drink minimum. The space is first come, first served.
Food
The menu has lots of dim sum choices, soups, and roasted meats. We ordered a lot.
The Crispy-Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls came first. They were tasty, but nothing special.
Chicken Pan Fried Dumplings arrived next. These were also good, but $10.88 for three dumplings is a bit pricey.
A moment later, the Char Siu was brought out. The pork was perfectly cooked and came with two sauces.
The Roasted Duck Rice Bowl was the next dish. I love duck and have had great roasted duck in Hong Kong and around the world. This was prepared well and did not come clinging to bones like I have had (and not liked) elsewhere. It was a big portion and filling.
My husband’s Shrimp & Pork Wonton Noodle Soup was next. He enjoyed the dish and also found it to be a generous size.
The next two dishes came together. I first tried the Pork Soup Dumplings and we quickly finished them. Just watch out for the hot liquid when biting in as these can squirt.
Finally, I was intrigued by one menu item more than any other as I had not often seen it on US menus with dim sum (it is a dish you can find in Hong Kong). The Peanut Butter French Toast was delicious and one of my favorites from this meal. The maple syrup is not needed as the French toast itself is plenty sweet.
Drinks
Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng only offers soft drinks on its menu. For cocktails, you need to head to the speakeasy mentioned above. We had bottled iced tea with dinner.
Overall Impression:
The food at Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng is delicious. The standouts were the Char Siu, Roasted Duck Rice Bowl, and Peanut Butter French Toast. I’ll definitely be returning when in Resorts World.
