While flying yesterday from Tampa International Airport (TPA) to New York LaGuardia Airport, I finally had the opportunity to try Mashama Bailey’s Shrimp and Grits on Delta Air Lines. The James Beard Award-winning chef designed the dish for the airline as I first reported last year.

Shrimp and Grits

The dish is described as “shrimp and grits with spicy Creole sauce and scallions.” This is available only as a pre-order option.

I started the meal with a cranberry juice and club soda mix.

The tray came with a warm bread roll and lemon cake. The shrimp were perfectly cooked. The polenta was creamy and the Creole sauce added great flavor.

The lemon cake was also quite tasty with a crunchy feuilletine layer that I loved.

Anthony’s Take: Another great meal on Delta. This is one that will definitely be selected again when given the opportunity.
