Alaska Airlines has a brand-new Disney and Pixar-themed aircraft to celebrate the upcoming release of Toy Story 5 and the airline’s approaching 45th anniversary. Horizon Air, the regional carrier for Alaska Airlines, unveiled the special livery on an Embraer E175 during a celebration at Portland International Airport (PDX). Dubbed “To 45 and Beyond,” the aircraft pays tribute both to the beloved Toy Story franchise and Horizon Air’s nearly 45 years of service across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The colorful design features fan-favorite characters Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie, alongside several new characters set to appear in Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated Toy Story 5, which arrives in theaters on June 19th.

New tech-inspired toys including Lilypad, Snappy, Atlas, and Smarty Pants are prominently showcased across the aircraft.

Adding to the playful theme, the livery includes floating cloud graphics inspired by Andy’s bedroom wallpaper, along with aviation-themed phrases such as “Saddle Up, It’s Takeoff Time!” and “Ready for Takeoff, Partner.” Sharp-eyed travelers will also spot surprise appearances from Forky and Karen Beverly on the aircraft’s winglets.
The aircraft’s name, “To 45 and Beyond,” is a nod to Buzz Lightyear’s iconic catchphrase while commemorating Horizon Air’s upcoming 45th anniversary. The airline says the design is intended to inspire guests of all ages and serve as a reminder that imagination, friendship and adventure remain at the heart of travel.
The new aircraft joins Alaska Airlines’ growing collection of Disney-themed special liveries. The fleet already includes aircraft inspired by Disneyland Resort attractions and franchises, including “Friendship and Beyond at the Disneyland Resort,” “Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Flyer,” “Mickey’s Toontown Express,” and the “Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort,” which was recently updated with characters from The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Anthony’s Take: Another fun livery. I’m such a sucker for these paint jobs. For more than three decades, the Toy Story films have captivated audiences around the world with stories centered on friendship, imagination, and adventure. With Toy Story 5 preparing for its theatrical debut, Horizon Air’s newest aircraft brings that spirit directly to the skies, offering travelers a little Disney magic before they even leave the ground.
