Air Canada just released its winter schedule and it includes a range of new destinations and routes. This is highlighted by the launch of the only nonstop flights between North America and Tenerife in Spain’s Canary Islands. The expansion includes new leisure destinations across Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico.
For the first time, travelers will be able to fly nonstop from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Tenerife South Airport (TFS). The route will be operated using Airbus A321XLR aircraft. These offer 14 lie-flat Signature Class and 168 Economy Class seats. Flights begin on October 25th and October 31st, respectively.

Air Canada is also adding several new destinations to its winter network. New routes include service from Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to/from Roatán’s Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB) (December 12th) as well as Montréal to/from Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) (December 10th). Additional new destinations include Mérida International Airport (MID) to/from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) (November 21st) and Mazatlán International Airport (MZT) to/from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) (December 15th).
The airline is boosting its presence across key vacation markets with a range of new nonstop routes. From Vancouver International Airport (YVR), new service will launch to/from Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) (December 13th), Monterrey International Airport (MTY) (December 3rd), and Puerto Escondido International Airport (PXM) (December 7th). Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) will gain a new connection to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA) (December 6th), while Calgary International Airport (YYC) will see expanded service to/from Cancún International Airport (CUN) (December 11th) and Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) (December 10th).

Other additions include new routes from Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG) to/from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport (MBJ) (December 7th) as well as Winnipeg service to/from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) (December 3rd).
Eastern Canada will also see growth with new flights from Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport (YQB) to/from Pointe-à-Pitre’s Guadeloupe Maryse Condé Airport (PDP) (December 17th) and to/from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) to/from Bridgetown’s Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) (December 17th).
The expanded winter schedule reflects strong demand for leisure travel, particularly to warm-weather destinations during the colder months in Canada. By adding new routes and increasing frequencies across popular sun markets, Air Canada is positioning itself to capture growing demand while offering travelers more choice and convenience for winter getaways.
Anthony’s Take: With flights already available for booking, the airline’s latest expansion marks one of its most ambitious seasonal network updates in recent years. There are lots of exciting new routes including the unique addition of Tenerife.
