I had the opportunity to visit American’s Admirals Club® while flying from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) yesterday. I have been in Air Canada’s lounges in Toronto many times, but this was my first trip to the small one that American Airlines runs here.

The lounge is located one floor up from the gates. There is an elevator to take you there. A Plaza Premium Lounge is next door and there was a line down the hall to get in (while the Admirals® Club was pretty empty).

The Admirals Club® has a desk to check credentials after exiting the elevator.

Anthony’s Take: The Admirals Club® was pretty empty for most of my visit. I found it a good spot to have breakfast and do some work before boarding my quick flight to Chicago.

Bar

There is a full-service bar in the back left corner of the lounge. A coffee machine as well as a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine were both also available for guests.

Seating & Decor

This Admirals Club® is tiny, but it offers a good amount of seating and was not too crowded. There are tables, a workstation, armchairs, and other configurations around the lounge. The design was minimalist, but felt clean and welcoming. There was also a lot of natural light and views outside to the tarmac.

Amenities

This Admirals Club® offers free Wi-Fi, restrooms, the departure board (pictured above), and the food and beverages mentioned.

Overall Impression: I fly to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) a few times a year. Next time I fly American I will definitely be returning to this lounge. I found it interesting that United uses Air Canada’s lounges, Delta sends to Plaza Premium, and American operates its own at the airport.
