Finnair is strengthening its Southern European offerings with the launch of flights to Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA), Florence Airport (FLR), Kos International Airport (KGS), and Valencia Airport (VLC) for the summer 2026 season. The new routes expand travel options for leisure travelers looking to hit the beach or to explore some of my favorite European cities.

Three of the routes are new additions to Finnair’s network, while Kos is moving from charter service to a regularly scheduled route. Frequencies and the dates available are as follows to/from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL):

  • Catania-Fontanarossa Airport (CTA) (3x weekly; runs from March 31st to October 21st)
  • Florence Airport (FLR) (2x weekly; runs from April 2nd to October 18th)
  • Kos International Airport (KGS) (2x weekly; runs from May 2nd to October 24th)
  • Valencia Airport (VLC) (2x weekly; runs from April 11th to October 24th)

In addition to these routes, Finnair will offer one of its strongest summer schedules ever across Southern Europe. Other flights include:

  • Greece: Chania International Airport (CHQ), Heraklion International Airport (HER), Rhodes International Airport (RHO), and Santorini International Airport (JTR)
  • Italy: Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), Naples-Capodichino International Airport (NAP), Leonardo da Vinci Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO), Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), and Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN)
  • Spain: Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC), Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN), Fuerteventura Airport (FUE), Gran Canaria Airport (LPA), César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE), Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP), Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), Tenerife South Airport (TFS)

Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer, said:

Italy, Spain, and Greece are particularly popular with our Finnish and Northern European customers during the summer months. The new destinations complement our Southern European network, offering both beach holidays and culture, and the travel period extends from spring to autumn.”

Anthony’s Take: Finnair is offering so many flights to great places across Greece, Italy, and Spain next summer. I love all of the options within Europe.
