Hyatt first announced that it was bringing the Park Hyatt brand to Kuala Lumpur back in March 2018. The original timeline called for the property (which occupies the top 17 floors of the tallest skyscraper in Southeast Asia) to be complete in 2021. That date slipped quite a bit, but the good news is that the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is accepting reservations starting on August 7th.

The hotel is located in the 118-story Merdeka 118 skyscraper. The building is 2,227 feet tall and quite the architectural marvel due to its massive size (it’s now the second tallest in the world just behind the Burj Khalifa in Dubai). The hotel will offer 232 rooms (this includes 28 suites and 30 residential apartments), a spa, a pool, multiple food and beverage outlets, as well as meeting and event space. It’s not for those afraid of heights, but I think it would be so cool to stay more than 100 stories in the sky.

The property looks every bit as luxe as you’d expect from a Park Hyatt and rates are surprisingly reasonable. Cash stays run around $315 per night and redeeming World of Hyatt® points will cost between 17,000 and 23,000 per night as this is a Category 5 hotel.

Anthony’s Take: I’d love to stay at this property. The building looks incredible and I really like the Park Hyatt brand.
