Back in December, JetBlue announced that it was adding two new lines to its transatlantic route map. Flights between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) as well as a second route to/from Edinburgh Airport (EDI) took off for the first time yesterday.

Both of the new routes will run through October 24th. Flights to both cities are operated with JetBlue’s Airbus A321LR aircraft with 24 Mint (Business Class), 24 Even More Space, and 90 Core (Economy Class) seats.

To celebrate the new routes, JetBlue is offering special $699 and $649 round trip fares to Madrid and Edinburgh. It’s also putting Business Class flights on sale with $2,399 roundtrip fares to Madrid and $3,299 roundtrip fares to Edinburgh in the airline’s premium Mint cabin. All sales are bookable on Jetblue.com.

Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President of Revenue, Network, and Enterprise Planning at JetBlue, said:

With our deep Boston roots, we’re excited to be putting more of Europe within reach for New England travelers with JetBlue’s low fares, great service, and the convenience of flying right from Logan. As we grow across the Atlantic from Boston, we’re also making it easier to connect to more of our network across the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean.”

Additional routes served to/from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) include:

  • Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) (daily; runs through October 24th)
  • Dublin Airport (DUB) (daily; runs through October 24th)
  • London Gatwick (LGW) (daily; runs through October 24th)
  • London Heathrow Airport (LHR) (daily; runs year-round)
  • Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) (daily; runs year-round)

Anthony’s Take: I have yet to experience JetBlue’s Mint service, but it’s on my list. It’s great to see the European options out of both Boston and NYC this summer.
