On the way home from our trip to Rome and Montenegro, we spent the night before a morning flight on SWISS to Miami International Airport (MIA) (flight review here) at the Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle. We’ve stayed here twice before and it’s one of my favorite airport hotels.
Anthony’s Take: The Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle is a short walk from the terminals and within the Circle district, which offers stores, restaurants, the Convention Center, and an extensive park. Trains are available to take passengers to the city center and Lake Zurich.
Booking
I booked a 1 King Bed room on a “Standard Room Free Night” rate. It was 50,000 World of Hyatt® points. The cash rate was CHF 278. The hotel falls under Category 5 with award rates for standard rooms ranging from 17,000 to 23,000 World of Hyatt® points.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
We arrived from Rome and walked from Zurich Airport (ZRH) to the hotel.
Location
As mentioned, the Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle is a short walk from the terminals and within the Circle shopping and dining district.
You enter the hotel on the ground floor and take the elevators or stairs up one level to reception.
The decor is modern and elegant.
There was a good amount of seating on the lower level, but it was all empty when we arrived.
Check-In
The check-in desks are in the front right corner. If arriving by car, they are immediately inside this entrance. We arrived at the hotel around 10:30 PM and our suite was ready. The agent told me that we were upgraded to a Regency Suite. She also explained the benefits around the lounge and breakfast (we were leaving too early to take advantage of either). She asked if I needed a late checkout (I did not), and printed the keys. We were on the way to the suite moments later.
The lobby is open and I loved the design.
We were the only ones there when we arrived.
The hotel does not feel like an airport hotel in its design or amenities.
The concierge desk was not staffed at the time we entered the hotel.
The elevators to the guest rooms are across the lobby.
The lobby and hallways on our floor were clean and in good repair.
Regency Suite (537)
There are 255 rooms and suites at The Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport The Circle.
The suite opens with a wardrobe to the side. An iron and ironing board were inside.
A half bath with a toilet and large vanity was to the left.
It was a large half bath.
A bar of Pharmacopia soap was near the sink.
I always love when we have the additional space afforded by a half bath.
The living room was straight ahead.
It held a couch, coffee table, chair, and TV.
A welcome amenity of nuts and bottled water was on the coffee table.
The TV was mounted on the wall across from the couch.
A large closet and desk area separated the living room and bedroom.
A safe, Nespresso machine, tea kettle, water, coffee, and condiments were found here.
The mini bar was below with some space for guest use.
The bedroom held a king-sized bed, night tables, and a TV in the corner.
A chair was in the corner.
The full bathroom was behind the bedroom with a vanity that included a large sink, a glassed-in shower, a toilet, and a bathtub.
The vanity was large with a good amount of counter space.
Another bar of Pharmacopia soap was on the counter.
A large bottle of body lotion was also there.
Other amenities were in a container nearby.
The toilet was well spaced from everything else.
The shower was large with good water pressure and temperature.
More toiletries were on a shelf in the shower.
We did not use the bathtub but it was a good size. It held another bar of soap.
Public Areas & Amenities
The lobby is large and shown above. Other amenities include a fitness center, restaurant, market (pictured above), spa, and a Hyatt Regency Club.
The Hyatt Regency Club was closed while we were there due to the short time we stayed.
The spa includes a sauna.
We did not have a chance to check out the spa or fitness center.
The restaurant is located across from reception.
Overall Impression:
The hotel is great choice for layovers (and even visiting the city based on its easy trains). It treats elite members well and has all of the amenities you’ll need before your onward journey. We’ll definitely be back.

Great review. I’d wondered about this place. Last Fall I was torn between this and the nearby Hyatt Place. I cheaped out and went with the – quite nice – Hyatt Place but doubt kept eating at me. At least now I see what I missed.
my favorite airport hotel!
