I usually spend most of my time flying United Airlines and Delta Air Lines. I am quite familiar with the food served in First and Business Class on these airlines and frequently review meals had on board. Today, I flew American Airlines from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) and had the opportunity to try one of the airline’s breakfast offerings.
I preordered the Three Cheese Omelet a few days before my flight. This was one of two choices. Both Delta and United offer far more choices when selecting a meal in advance.
The Three Cheese Omelet was served with seasoned potato wedges. The tray came with a fruit salad, Chobani vanilla yogurt, and a choice of a biscuit, cinnamon roll, or croissant. The omelet and potatoes were well seasoned and served at a great temperature. The fruit was fresh and crisp. I also liked that American offers several breakfast bread choices.
Anthony’s Take: This was a hearty and filling breakfast. As I’ve said before, it’s best when airlines stick to the tried and true for meals. When they try to get too fancy or start adding too many odd things, the entire meal goes down quickly. I would order this again when on another American Airlines flight serving breakfast.
