Porter Airlines is a Toronto-based airline that connects passengers to 23 cities across Canada and the US. It announced today that it’s adding a duo of warm weather, vacation destinations in the United States this winter. The two new routes will takeoff from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) begins today and next week.
New routes include:
- Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (3x weekly; starts on 11/28)
- Tampa International Airport (TPA) (4x weekly; starts on 11/22)
These new flights are operated with a 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter promises that all passengers receive “celebrity treatment with Porter’s elevated economy experience.” It offers a 2-2 seating configuration and offers a premium experience to all passengers with complimentary snacks, beer and wine served in glassware, and free Wi-Fi. PorterReserve passengers enjoy additional benefits such as priority check-in, enhanced legroom, and fresh, healthy meals, while these features can also be purchased à la carte with PorterClassic fares.
Edmond Eldebs, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Porter Airlines, said:
As one of the largest carriers operating out of Ottawa, we’re pleased to add these seasonal routes to give travelers more options when they’re planning their winter travel to Florida. Our distinct approach to economy air travel will provide them with an elevated experience that no other airline in North America offers.”
Travelers looking to hit the Sunshine State from Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), Ottawa International Airport (YOW), and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) will see multiple flights a day to/from these Canadian airports with service on Air Canada, Porter Airlines, and WestJet.
Anthony’s Take: I live in Florida during the winter and think I might do the reverse for a little Christmas-time fun in December in Canada. I still need to try out Porter Airlines.
