Frontier Airlines Expands US and Caribbean Service With 16 New Routes

Frontier Airlines expanded its route network with the announcement today of 16 new routes across the United States and the Caribbean launching in February and March. These flights will span 21 airports with several added to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) to make up for some of American’s retreat from the Texas capital.

Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, said:

As consumers begin planning travel for Spring 2025 and beyond, we are delighted to announce 16 new routes to a host of exciting destinations. With our return to Tucson, Ariz., Reno, Nev., and Antigua and Barbuda, and with expanded service from cities coast to coast, consumers can continue to look to Frontier as their ultra-low cost carrier of choice.”

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS)

Frontier is adding five routes to/from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). The carrier used to have a larger presence in Austin and many of these routes are returning after a few year hiatus. American has hacked its schedule here down to flights largely to/from its hubs and Frontier is taking advantage of the opportunity to fill some gaps. New flights include:

• Chicago O’Hare International Airport (3x weekly; starts on March 6th)
• Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) (2x weekly; starts on March 7th)
• Indianapolis International Airport (IND) (3x weekly; starts on March 7th)
• Orlando International Airport (MCO) (3x weekly; starts on March 6th)
• Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) (2x weekly; starts on March 7th)

Orlando International Airport (MCO)

In addition to the route to/from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) noted above, travelers to Disney will see these new flights:

• Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) (daily; starts on March 6th)
• Nashville International Airport (BNA) (3x weekly; starts on March 7th)
• Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) (2x weekly; starts on March 7th)

Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO)

The Biggest Little City in the World will see new flights to the Mile High City and Sin City next year.

• Denver International Airport (DEN) (3x weekly; starts on March 7th)
• Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) (3x weekly; starts on March 7th)

Tampa International Airport (TPA)

I’m always excited when Tampa International Airport (TPA) gets new routes on any carrier since I live here in the winter. Frontier is adding these three:

• Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) (3x weekly; starts on March 6th)
• Indianapolis International Airport (IND) (3x weekly; starts on March 6th)
• Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport (MKE) (3x weekly; starts on March 7th)

Other Routes:

• Antigua’s V. C. Bird International Airport (ANU) to/from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) (1x weekly; starts on February 15th)
• Miami International Airport (MIA) to/from Hartford’s Bradley International Airport (BDL) (2x weekly; starts on February 13th)
• Tucson International Airport (TUS) to/from Denver International Airport (DEN) (3x weekly; starts on March 3rd)

Anthony’s Take: Frontier is beefing up Austin and adding service to Florida among other spots. I find the Antigua route intriguing.
