A two-alarm fire broke out at the hourly parking deck of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) this morning. The incident caused the temporary closure of the hourly parking deck, valet parking, and the upper/departure level roadway.

The Charlotte Fire Department responded and brought the fire under control within 40 minutes of arrival. Three minor injuries were reported (one civilian and two officers), with one individual being brought to the hospital for further evaluation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Smoke was reported around 9:30 AM EST with four cars on fire on the fourth floor of the parking garage. All parking decks and roads have reopened with the exception of the fourth floor of the hourly parking deck.
Anthony’s Take: The cause of the fire has not been determined. Thankfully, there were only minor injuries and the fire was contained quickly.
