American Airlines is going to provide those looking for some Florida sunshine a few more options this Presidents’ Day. The Dallas-based carrier is adding several flights to connect Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA) with several destinations in the Sunshine State.
On February 17th to 24th, American will add flights from Boston Logan Airport (BOS). These include:
- Key West International Airport (EYW) (operated with an Embraer 175 by American Eagle)
- Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) (operated with an Airbus A319)
American will also add flights from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) on February 17th to 24th. These include:
- Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) (operated with an Airbus A319)
- Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) (operated with an Embraer 175 by American Eagle)
- Tampa International Airport (TPA) (operated with an Embraer 175 by American Eagle)
American was relying on JetBlue to serve these routes, but has added them for this holiday after its Northeast Alliance was struck down by a federal judge in July (more here). JetBlue will continue to serve all of these routes year-round with the exception of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), which ends in March 2024.
Anthony’s Take: American is adding several seasonal Florida routes. These will likely do well as Florida demand is looking healthy this summer with lots of folks in the northeast looking to get away from the cold.
