My flight from DTW landed six minutes early but our gate was not ready (full recap here). Luckily, the gate opened in a few minutes. My connection to Tampa was going to start boarding any second. The gate was directly across from the one we landed at and as I got off the plane, I heard the call for preboarding and walked over. No time for Sky Clubs® or anything this time.

Tampa Sign

The flight boarded quickly with passengers also looking ready to get into warmer weather.

ATL to TPA Flight

The flight was going to only be one hour and 20 minutes.

Friends Beach

Wi-Fi was free and fast for this leg. I fell asleep during an episode of Friends (“The One with the Jellyfish”) and woke up just as we were going to land.

ATL to TPA

The flight landed on time at 10:31 PM. I felt happy to be back in Tampa. I was picked up and back home 15 minutes later.

Flamingo TPA

It was good to see the giant flamingo again.

Anthony’s Take: This was the last flight after having been on nine in the past 40 hours. I found the trip was overall pleasant with tons to eat, friendly crews and ground staff, as well as flights that for the most part were on time or early. I succeeded in my Dash for Platinum.
