An unprecedented number of travelers are flocking to Europe this summer. These throngs of tourists are spreading out across the continent, but 10 attractions are getting particularly overrun.
The Thinking Traveller analyzed overcrowding keywords from thousands of TripAdvisor reviews for European attractions to create a top 10 list. Here are where you’ll find the largest crowds this summer:
10. Musee d’Orsay (Paris, France)
9. The British Museum (London, England)
8. Acropolis (Athens, Greece)
7. Louvre Museum (Paris, France)
6. Tower of London (London, England)
5. The Roman Baths (Bath, England)
4. Grand Canal (Venice, Italy)
3. Siam Park (Tenerife, Spain)
2. Buckingham Palace (London, England)
1. Edinburgh Castle (Edinburgh, Scotland)
I’m surprised this list does not include the Colosseum in Rome, The Eiffel Tower in Paris, or La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
Anthony’s Take: This list was compiled from an analysis of TripAdvisor reviews. I’d assume that actual ticket sales or records of the numbers of visitors at a given attraction would vary greatly from this list. Anywhere in Europe is sure to be packed this summer and I’m not planning on heading back until the fall when the crowds thin out.

LOL I’m 12/13 and got it all done many years ago before the rest of you were born most likely! 🙂
Yes. I’ve hit almost all of the list as well. Thankfully not in the current crowds.
No Eifel Tower, Vatican Museum, or even New Schwanstein seems a bit surprising.
I was surprised as well.
