I spent a few days last week in Fort Worth. My company booked me at the Aloft Fort Worth Downtown. The hotel is a short walk to the Fort Worth Convention Center and worked well for my needs this trip.
Anthony’s Take: The Aloft Fort Worth Downtown offers an inviting lobby with pool tables, a market, a bar, and lots of seating. My room was comfortable and I appreciated the high ceilings. Aloft is an offshoot of W Hotels and you see that in some of the hotel’s elements like the WXYZ® Bar. The hotel is modern (built in 2018) and is well located if you need to get to the convention center.
Booking
The room was booked on a conference rate. I was booked into 1 King Bed, Traditional Guest Room at a cost below the rates above. If you’re looking to redeem only Marriott Bonvoy® points here, redemptions cost between 20,000 and 42,000 points per night for a standard room.
Transportation to/from the Hotel
I took an Uber Comfort from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The approximately 22-mile ride took 35 minutes and cost $87. I returned to the airport the same way, but it cost $54.
Location
The hotel is located just a quick walk from many restaurants, stores, and the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Check-in
There are two desks for checking in (only one was staffed while I was there). I arrived around 9:00 PM and the agent informed me that my room was ready. The hotel was sold out, so there were no upgrades available. He offered me a choice of breakfast or 500 points as a welcome amenity. I took the points. He also asked if I would like a late checkout. I requested 3:00 PM and it was granted without hesitation.
The lobby has multiple seating areas throughout.
A pool table and more seating are just past the bar.
Tables are available for purchases made at the market.
The elevator lobbies are bright. The elevators have controls where you enter your floor and you’re assigned a lettered car (i.e. Elevator D).
The hallways were in decent shape with carpets that are not new, but well maintained.
1 King Bed, Traditional Guest Room (928)
There are 180 rooms and suites at the hotel.
A closet is to the right side when you enter the room. Here you’ll find an iron, ironing board, and hangers.
A Keurig, coffee pods, and condiments were to the left.
A safe is below the coffeemaker.
The bathroom is to the left. It’s not the most private if you’re sharing with someone other than a partner. There is a single bowl sink on the vanity.
An empty refrigerator was under the counter.
Toiletries included soap, body, and makeup remover wipes.
The toilet was pretty tightly situated near the shower.
The shower was spacious and it had good water pressure.
Dry Bar brand shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner were mounted in the shower.
The bedroom area filled the rest of the space.
The king-sized bed was comfortable and flanked by two nightstands.
A desk was located near the window.
Public Areas & Amenities
The hotel has an indoor pool, fitness center, bar, market, pool table, and lots of seating throughout the lobby.
Even though the hotel is downtown, it has an indoor pool.
There is also a fitness center with treadmills, free weights, and other exercise machines overlooking the pool.
The market is open 24/7.
Coffee and water were offered complimentary in the lobby.
Overall Impression: I am generally not a big fan of the Aloft brand, but this hotel worked well for my business trip. This hotel should suit you if you’re looking for a modern and reasonably priced option in downtown Fort Worth.
